Staying Afloat: New Single Buoyancy Releases April 24th
Indie rock has had a banner year with so many great artists coming into their own on the scene. We’ve covered some great bands this year like Unstable Shapes and I had an interview even earlier with Common People. The year isn’t even through it’s first quarter yet and we’re still seeing hits and potential hits coming down the pipeline as the US heads into the summer music scene.
Not to be left out of that scene is Four Degrees Colder, an indie duo from St. Louis, Missouri whose synth-rock style blends in elements of electronica and inspirations from bands like I Don’t Know How But They Found Me for a new yet familiar pop rock sound.
Four Degrees Colder
If you haven’t heard of them before, now would be a good time to start if you like bands like the aforementioned iDKHOW or PVRIS. As the band is releasing a single from their upcoming new album “Nothing To Do” on April 24th. Tackling themes of resilience with an alt-rock sound, Buoyancy will give listeners an energetic peek behind the curtain for what they can expect for the upcoming album. Synth heavy, with bass riffs you can really bob your head to; a great example of the work that made me go back and listen to all of Four Degrees Colder’s previous album, “Pretty Men in Suits.”
Jamie Saylor and Kendal Abeln may not be huge right now, but once you hear “Buoyancy” you’ll definitely want to keep your eyes on them. The single and their other discography can be found on Spotify and if you want to follow the band for albums and any upcoming tours, be sure to check out the Four Degrees Colder website.
